PACKING LIST FOR MONGOLIA

DOCUMENTS:

• A passport is valid for at least six months upon entry.
• Visa: if necessary, please check this out: https://en.go2mongolia.com/visa
• Flight tickets
• Credit cards: both Visa and Mastercard are accepted everywhere in Ulaanbaatar.
• Cash: we advise you to take enough cash on your trip, as it can be difficult to find an ATM in the countryside, not in the capital of Mongolia. 
• Valid health insurance: if you participate in the riding tours, any kind of risk of riding should be covered!
• Copies of all important documents.

CLOTHING:

• Please do not take hard-shell cases with you and limit your luggage to a reasonable amount!
• Daypack (30 L capacity)
• Money belt
• Warm clothes like fleece sweaters, fleece zip-up jackets, and warm wool socks (gloves and hats are recommended for outdoor trips)
• Warm thermal base layers (the climate everywhere is similar: during the day it is hot and at night it often cools down to 5 °C even in summer)
• Breathable rain jacket, possibly rain cape
• Hiking or travel pants
• A comfortable variety of shirts. Tank top, t-shirt, and long sleeve. 
• A pair of sturdy hiking boots; a pair of light, comfortable shoes; perhaps bathing slippers; sandals
• Comfortable summer clothes include shorts, a T-shirt, a hat (that’s more for sun protection), regular socks, and underwear.
• Fast-Drying Towel and swimwear.

HYGIENE:

• Sunscreen (recommendation of 50 SPF PA +++)
• Sunglasses
• Mosquito and insect repellents
• Travel medicine kid (especially for constipation and the opposite, against food poisoning aspirin, plasters, and disinfectants)
• Nasal cares against the dryness of the atmosphere.
• Personal hygiene items
• Clothing detergent, if needed (all camps have laundry)
• Earplugs

ELECTRONICS:

• Rechargeable Headlamp
• Power Bank, Solar Chargers and USB cable to car chargers.

ON TREKKING, HORSE RIDING and TENT TOURS: 

• 2 robust, larger bags (possibly with protective cover for horse trekking; or one of them: a water-resistant canoe bag)
• Horse riding trousers and boots, a helmet, and leather gloves
• Warm, winter sleeping bag (we provide you with a waterproof camping mat).
• Trekking poles

If there is a little space:

• Binoculars for animal watching, gifts (nomads will be very happy about it if you bring something).
